Fundraising for the restoration of St. Mary’s Chapel has been a tremendous success. Initiated by the Mervell family, the effort aims to restore the church, which has deteriorated since it fell into Protestant hands during religious turmoil. The building suffered from neglect, with decorative stone crumbling and cracks appearing in both the front and back facades. Additionally, soot from nearby houses and businesses has darkened the stone, making the chapel appear like a shadow next to its larger counterpart, Dom Kaerdos.
The Mervell family, known for preserving several other buildings in Lutheria from ruin, has taken it upon themselves to restore the chapel to its former glory. They organised a grand ball attended by high-ranking nobility from the area and beyond, including special guests from the German and English aristocracy. Marquess Alexander Mervell announced that enough funds have been raised to make St. Mary’s the most beautiful and intricate building in Lutheria once again. The restoration process is expected to begin in the spring of next year.
